PSI stands to Pound per Square Inch. It is the unit for pressure. One PSI equals the pressure created by applying one pound force to an area of one inch. PSI stands for the force exerted over a square inch.

Police Sub Inspector (PSI Full Form)
The Police Sub-inspector (PSI). This rank is particularly popular in South Asia, in particular in the Bangladeshi Police, Indian Police and Sri Lankan Police. It is primarily based upon the British model. It was previously in all British colonial police forces, and certain British police forces. This rank was usually in charge of a substation or assisted an inspector.
A police sub-inspector or (PSI) ranks above an assistant sub-inspector of police and below an inspector. Many police sub-inspectors have higher education qualifications than the lower-ranking officers and are directly recruited into police.
The post of PSI is available in various Police Forces like BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CBI, SSB and CISF.
To become a sub-inspector or SI, candidates must apply for SI Examination first. This exam is conducted by the SSC (Staff Selection Commission).
